Calendar and Song Please

Can you name the song that this photo represents?
Clues: It is both a song AND a movie.
The song was co-written by a "Duke" in 1932.
A "Count" recorded the song.

  1. April in Paris, non?

I didn't know Corky and Nigel were in the cast.

  2. It probably isn't singing in the rain. A count no less, impressive.

  3. Dunno, but when I googled the last two lines of the hint CC was the third link. Does that make you famous?

  4. I have no idea about the song. But hey, I'm glad to see Corky around. That little guy gets around doesn't he?

  5. Singing in the Rain! Yes!

No idea. And, yes, Corky does get around.

  6. I think Michael Hampton has it. "April in Paris", co-written by Duke Ellington and recorded by Count Basie. I'm sort of half guessing but it makes sense.

I'd imagine Corky caused a bit of a security scare being so close to the Louvre. How does he get through security at the airport? Or does he travel another way?

  8. Finally, all those years in band have paid off! :)

    Persis got it as well.

  9. Oops, sorry Persis I didn't even see yours (can't read italics I guess) and my guess for the composer was way off. You got me that time, Eddie. Who's Vernon Duke, anyway?

I'm going to go read a few verses on humility now . . .

  10. Vernon Duke was the first man join Calvinistic Cartoons as "Anonymous".
