FREE Book! Enough!

The American way of life pushes people to constantly strive for more--more money, more stuff, more clout. But how much is enough? And how do we know when we have too much of a good thing? In this provocative, paradigm-shifting book, Will Davis Jr. challenges readers to discover the peace that comes through contentment with what we have and compassion for those in need. Through surprising statistics, scriptural insight, and real-life stories, Davis gently leads readers to consider living with less in order to do more for the kingdom. Thought-provoking discussion questions and short chapters make this a perfect study for small groups.

Spend Some Time with a FREE book!

Written by an L. A. County homicide detective and former atheist, Cold-Case Christianity examines the claims of the New Testament using the skills and strategies of a hard-to-convince criminal investigator.

Christianity could be defined as a “cold case”: it makes a claim about an event from the distant past for which there is little forensic evidence. In Cold-Case Christianity, J. Warner Wallace uses his nationally recognized skills as a homicide detective to look at the evidence and eyewitnesses behind Christian beliefs. Including gripping stories from his career and the visual techniques he developed in the courtroom, Wallace uses illustration to examine the powerful evidence that validates the claims of Christianity.

A unique apologetic that speaks to readers’ intense interest in detective stories, Cold-Case Christianity inspires readers to have confidence in Christ as it prepares them to articulate the case for Christianity.

It would be a crime not to get this book!

FREE Book on Romans 8

If asked, 'Which chapter of the Bible would you take with you to a desert island?' I suspect many believers would answer, 'Romans 8' In a glorious section of God's Word, Paul sets before us the trials and the triumphs, the pains and the gains, the indicatives and the imperatives of living life as a child of God- saved by Christ, led by the Spirit, and cared for by a heavenly Father. Now, if a commentary on Romans 8 were permitted on the desert island, I would without hesitation, recommend this wonderful exposition by Derek Thomas. Like the chapter it illumines so clearly, it is a literary treasure and a spiritual feast. --Dr. Iain D. Campbell: Pastor, Free Church of Scotland in Point, Isle of Lewis, Scotland

While Christians may believe that the gospel merely begins our Christian lives, Derek Thomas shows us convincingly that the gospel is the beginning, middle, and end of our lives - indeed, that it is status-shaping, holiness-motivating, and glory-providing. Moving through the grand biblical themes of Romans 8 that shape our understanding of who and whose we are, believers will see that our union with Jesus determines everything about us. Would that my church members might marinate in these truths and so emerge gospel-soaked and gospel-encouraged. --Dr. Sean Michel Lucas: Senior Minister, First Presbyterian Church Hattiesburg, Mississippi

What Would Happen?

Please continue with other ideas...

Fan Photo from Paige Turner

Special thanks and a seven thousand dollar check goes to Mr. Turner for this iPhone snapshot. This has to be one of the strangest posters I have seen. It doesn't make sense unless it's a teaser for an upcoming play or movie. Which reminds me...there are three movies about Tesla in the making. One should be out in October of this year, and the other two are scheduled for 2015.

There's an APP for That #5

This is my take on the line "there's an app for that". APP interpreted by Calvinistic Cartoons means "Appropriate Particular Passage (of Scripture)". I need your help in finding a verse or two from the Bible to help explain or illustrate the photo above. Thanks in advance for your participation.

Not Just a Movie!

Random Word Writing Challenge #53 (Special Edition)

Homonyms are words that are both spelled and pronounced the same, but have different meanings. In this challenge, you will have to use each word TWICE using the homonym with an alternate meaning. Even more of a challenge is putting your story into some theological framework and making it humorous.
