Yes, Michael, it is indeed comforting to know that in these times - with Arminian superheroes popping up everywhere - the Dark Knight is a champion for Calvinism. :D
Now let's figure out the Joker's theological viewpoint...
I'm guessing he's from the Rob Bell camp. If everybody's gonna get to heaven one way or another, why not be a terrorist in the meantime?
...I remember one of the Doc Savage novels where Doc is explaining to his men the historical accuracy of the Bible. Does anyone out there know the title of that novel? I no longer have any of the paperbacks.
I don't know about Doc explaining the historical reliability of the Bible, but I wouldn't doubt that such a thing was written in a Doc story in those days. I did some searching and found a place where a Christian writer, Mark Eidemiller, has written some Doc Savage stories with Doc as a Christian. They can be found here. I haven't read them yet, but I will.
Well, sad though it is, at least we know Batman's a Calvinist.
ReplyDeleteWe're finding out a lot about superheros lately aren't we?
Free will makes the flowers grow? It does?
ReplyDeleteArminians have strange ideas I tells ya!
So THAT what makes flowers grow...It makes sense now!!!

I'm an old Doc Savage fan. He's got to be a Calvinist because he was interested in reforming people.
ReplyDeleteAnd if free will makes that flowers bloom, I imagine those flowers are daisies and not tulips?
ReplyDelete@Jim:
ReplyDeleteI'm an old Doc Savage fan also! I will have to investigate his doctrinal stance in the near future. In the meantime, read this:

ReplyDeleteDoc Savage? I've never heard of him. That's something I'll have to look into.
ReplyDeleteWait... what's your proof that Batman is Calvinist?

Thanks, "Monk". I think that may be a good alternative to Bolliwood on the flight to India next month.
