Summer Vacation Begins

My wife, and I leave Kuwait tonight for 3 months of travel. We fly to Dallas with my daughter and granddaughter to visit with family and friends. After that, we will drive to Durango, Colorado to stay with our daughter, Tammy. In August we return for a few days to Kuwait and then we are off to Rome, Romania and Transylvania.
It will be September before I can crank up the Photoshop and start Calvinistic Cartoons up and running at full speed. I have pre-posted Sunday devotional messages and Wednesday Just for Laughs throughout the summer. I intend to fill in some gaps here and there with more free book announcements and updates on our trip and photos of our journey. So stay tuned and please pray for us.
To God be the glory great things He has done - and continues to do! The Bride of Christ should be engaged in spiritual conversations wherever the Lord Jesus Christ leads us. May our love for Him increase and overflow in our daily walk. Thanks everyone and have a great summer!

This is Real - No Joke

Hello, friends. And I mean that. In the years since I started this blog, I've made real friends around the world. The time has come for a hiatus. Possibly permanent. It takes an incredible amount of time to digitally restore these backgrounds. I've loved every minute! But, my life is in a state of evolving and transition, and I need to focus on that. I'm going to leave the blog online for your reference. And mine too!
Thanks for your support and encouragement over the years. Over TWO MILLION people have visited this blog. Amazing....For the moment... that's all, folks.

That was posted over a month ago on one of my favorite blog sites. I never thought that the blog would come to an end like it did. So many will be saddened by its departure, so to speak. At least, everything will remain, as is, hopefully, for years and years.
Most of my backgrounds for Chic & Gumbo, I found there. My Calvinistic Cartoons banner at the top of this blog was from one of the cells on his site. If you love animation and/or cartoon art, you should visit animationbackgrounds.blogspot.com.
You will see for yourself why it was one of my references for what I do here.
For any of you who have skipped down to the last paragraph to see if this refers to Calvinistic Cartoons. Well, be sure to read the in between sentences for more information.
For now, I must bid you all ado. Because I need to spend some time in study. But, before theology, there should always be "knee-ology". That makes such a difference.

A Testimony to God's Saving Grace

My B.C. years were pocked with sin and grief.
I did all I could to fulfill my carnal ambitions. Thinking I would always earn a living as a musician, I dropped out of high school to devote myself to sex, drugs and rock n' roll. Getting high was my top priority. I was jailed eventually, hospitalized, and committed to a mental institution because of my suicidal inclinations. When I was released, I continued pursuing the same activities. I did all I could to escape reality. I was running from myself...running from my past...and without knowing it at the time, running straight into the hands of God! I now realize the Lord was setting up all the roadblocks, detours, and dead-ends in my life, leading me through a seemingly hopeless maze into a direct confrontation with His Son, Jesus Christ! Hebrews 1:14 declares that God sends His angels to render service to "those who will inherit salvation." He was surely doing that in my tangled life. One night, while alone in my room, I could run no longer. I reached out to the Lord and cried in desperation for Him to save me from a life misspent. He heard my plea and miraculously and instantly transformed me. I will never be the same.
