I talked with Craig Boyd today, over the phone, as he was recovering from hip surgery in his hospital room. He and his son Michael were crossing a busy street, and as he usually does, he jogged a little at the finish. He tripped on the curb and broke his hip. His head hit the metal box on the crosswalk pole lacerating his ear.
He appreciates all the prayer he can get. He has weeks of physical therapy to undergo and this has affected his work as well.
He may be a "stranger in a strange land" but to our Calvinistic blog community he is a much loved brother in Christ.
The greatest healing therapy is friendship, love and plenty of prayer.
Thanks for the update. Still praying.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update. I'll continue to pray for his speedy recovery.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update. I slipped on the ice in Feb and broke my right hip. Thankfully, no surgery was needed, but very painful for about 2-3 weeks. Praying his recovery is quick!
ReplyDeletePraying for the Stranger.
ReplyDeleteOh, no fun!!! Thank you for the update.
ReplyDeleteThank you. Keeping Craig and family in prayers.

ReplyDelete@ Eddie, Persis, Corey P. , Spherical, Ellery, Jo, Helen, Michael Wright, Joel the Immerser, THEOparadox___and everyone else who has been praying for me. Thank you all so much, I love intercessors.
As you continue to intercede, please include my wife Sheila, and my son Michael. Both have been a tremendous help to me when I was at hospital and now that I am home.
As I was lying in bed last night I thought up my next blog post, which I will write when I get back to my Strange Land. (btw, this world appeared to be a REALLY STRANGE LAND when I was emerging from general anesthesia.)
In Christ's loving care,
Craig Boyd
Glad you're home and doing better...your new avatar cracked me up! (as you know since I was on the telephone with you when I saw it)

ReplyDeleteI mentioned prayer for Sheila and Michael. They are here with me. Please also pray for our son, Joseph, who arrived here shortly before I went into surgery, and is now back in Tucson. He was a wonderful help, arranging things here at the house and a great encouragement to his mother.
Our daughter Becky, (who is expecting next month) has blessed and encuraged us with her phone calls. She and Joseph have also been busy working behind the scenes to arrange assistance for us, as has Michael.
Thank you for praying.
Well, good to hear from you Mr. Boyd. Keep going.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update, Craig. Glad you're back home. Still praying for you and your family.
