Ed Young Jr. Receives Award

Talk about Arminian Antics!
This "pastor" is in love with the spotlight of the media...to put it nicely.
Here is what Anonymous had to say:

I think the "pastor" most deserved of the award should be Ed Young, Jr. of Fellowship Church in Grapevine, Texas. Unlike his dad, Ed Young, Sr., of Second Baptist in Houston, a REAL preacher who knows the Bible inside and out, Eddie Jr. relies on gimmicks like parking a tank on the stage, or worse yet, a toilet. His latest stunt is a 24-hour bed-in with his wife on the roof of the "church", slated for this weekend. THOSE are things more along the lines of P.T. Barnum theatrics.

P.T. would be proud as a peacock!

  1. Is he the guy that is camping out on a roof somewhere with his wife telling couples to have sex every day for a week to improve their marriage?

  2. All he is saying, is give pragmatism a chance...

john & Yoko would be so proud.

  3. All I know is when Anonymous speaks, we should listen. I have seen his or her name in countless blog columns and even in big, thick books of quotations!

I have been to Ed Jr.'s church in Grapevine, and I have attended his dad's church in Houston. It's as different as night and day. (in that order)

All right Those things may be stunts and gimmicks - but I say, If they bring even one soul closer to making a decision for Jesus ---who are we to criticize?

  5. Little D seems to be making the case for Joel Osteen as well as Ed Jr.

  6. Ouch. My only question is how does glorifying sex through public display and using unscriptural, flesly measures bring someone closer to the Biblical, spiritual Jesus?

Things like this just show how close the end of the age really is.

Bottom line - are we trying to win souls by cheap tricks and circus acrobatics, foolishness and fleshly methods or are we first and foremost wanting to honor and glorify God?

If "anything goes as long as it works" is all that matters, then why not stick a gun to someone's head and try to scare them into the sinner's prayer...after all, I am getting someone closer to making a decision for Christ! It's worth it! Right? So I spend six months in jail...a soul has been saved.

If you are a doctor, lie to your patient and tell him/her that they have a week to live. Then give them the gospel and a Bible.
After the week is up...tell them you looked at the wrong X-rays.
That HAD to get them thinking about eternal things.

I'm sounding like the Masked Arminian Pastor now.

You don't see the apostle Paul telling Timothy to use any gimmick or stunt to get a crowd. The Word of God was sufficient in every case.

There is a lot of foolishness going on in the name of Christ and a lot of people defending bad theology and practices everywhere you turn.

Do I hear Someone knocking on the door?
Someone wants to come in but...we really don't want to share our spotlight with Anyone.

  8. Seems Little D and Ms. Rosehart have much in common.

  9. He's moving away from P.T. Barnum and entering Moulin Rouge territory now as in the original Paris theater.

  10. Well said Eddie, the word of God is sufficient. I believe Spurgeon said, "If people don't want to hear the word of God, that's all the more reason we should give it to them."

  11. What a charlatan Ed Young, Jr. has become -- a complete fraud. Ed and his kind are the ones Christ spoke about in Matthew 7:21-23. To them I say that Christ is coming back soon; repent before it is too late.
