Is The Widget Working?

I have doubts that my newest widget is working properly. Numbers of comments have seemed to decrease from certain individuals lately. I may need to reload it or replace it with another widget from another source. So please let me know if you detect any discrepancies in its functioning. Thanks, amigos.

  1. Nothing is wrong with your widget. You have one that is based on the top 100 comments. If one new person comments it lowers the top by one. If you displayed all 100 you would notice it more readily. Trust me.

  2. Change your setting to 500 and you will get better results.

  3. If you don't have the option for 500, then get a widget from another source that does provide for a larger blog.

  4. You mean this comment alone will change the ratings?

  5. I made some changes and now the bar is raised a little higher...

    ...it's only fair y'know.

  6. I've hated widgets ever since I took Economics I & II in college as I was working toward becoming a CPA. I think I could have understood if they would have talked cars or something else that was actually real. Every time the prof would start talking about widgets my brain just said, "Widgets? Those aren't real, therefore economics isn't real. Why do I need this class? Why am I even sitting here? Does that cloud look like a turtle or an elephant? I think King Arthur would have swept in here and hacked everyone to death with swords while his page/servant Patsy clacked his coconut halves (carried by swallows, you know) all around. 'Where's the Holy Hand Grenade?' Widgets?"

  7. The Holy Hand Grenade was last seen queuing for a cinema ticket...

  8. Yikes I went from number 1 to number seven.

  9. It seems to take a few minutes to bop one up to the next number. If you post a comment then check the chart you will still be where you were...

    ...this teaches patience, my friends.

  10. Gregg, it's better this way...otherwise, you would always be in the 19 to 20 comment range.

  11. Hey is that Corky mounted onto the tip of that arrow?

(Or do I just want to inflate my comment-ranking?)

  12. Joel...Joel the Immerser...you can climb back to the top in no time...just try short bursts of monologues...yeah, that's the ticket.

  13. Yesterday it didn't work, today it did, but please don't ask me because my computer is crazy. Sometimes it doesn't even show the "recent comments" widget.
Wait, it's not crazy! It just has free will.

  14. Cool arrow. What every pastor needs during business meetings. Though the outfit might be a little too much.

  15. My ranking is way lower now . . . I wish I hadn't said anything about the widget. But hey, at least the widget is doing what it's intended to do: incite comment competition!

I'm gonna fly my plane over Lakewood now . . .

  16. Looks like I made the list. Maybe I should add one to my blog? But I don't think that I would have the numbers that you have. :)

  17. What I like best is the content and quality of the comments are not graded, otherwise I would be in big trouble. This is grading for the commenting challenged.

    Wheeeeeeeee!

  18. Now the list is based on 500 comments. That means that the top commenter's comment score might lower as others continue to post comments.

  19. It's as close to accuracy I can get for the time being. Enjoy it while you can...there are no blogs in Heaven.

  20. This is totally off topic, but it will raise my commenting rank so here goes. Is that picture of you in the space suit photoshopped, or are you a real astronaut? Just curious.

    ReplyDelete
  21. No fair leaving two comments in a row! That will artificially increase your score!

  22. Where's that Rent-A-Blog-Blabber when I need it?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Wow, several of us should get lives...

    ReplyDelete
  24. Blogging is not life producing? Since when? :)

  25. Hey, I realized that I'm on the list 3 times. If I comment more, I could surpass myself.
