Just for Laughs #54

Just a little reminder to make this picture into
something fitting for a Calvinistic Cartoon blog.

  1. Another page from The Picture-Memoirs of Chet "Pappy" Burnett

Me and the missus, all dressed up. This is a print, copied from a photo taken at the church's annual costume party. I was never one for costumes myself, and nobody minded that I just put on what I usually wear to church.

Behind me you can see Reverend Charles "Chucko" Clowney*, our interim pastor at the time. He is also wearing what he usually wore to church.

*No relation to the late Dr. Edmund Clowney, as far as I know.

This had me laughing so hard I spewed chocolate milk all over the west wall of my flat.

Now, I will have to make the others match.

I will try my best to make that happen.

  4. Mary:
When trying to express oneself, it's frankly quite absurd,

To leaf through lengthy lexicons to find the perfect word.

A little spontaniaty keeps conversation keen,

You need to find a way to say, precisely what you mean...

Even though the sound of it is something quite atrosicous!
If you say it loud enough, you'll always sound precocious,

  5. Madam chesterten secretly notifies Mr. Carlson that the rest of the party is stinkering at the fact that his pants are tucked into his boots.

  6. Buck and Sue Maryweather awoke in a nightmare. They were expecting the wedding supper of the Lamb, not the costume party of the goats.
