Taking the Time...

I just wanted to take the time to thank every single reader, or married reader for that matter, who takes the time to stop and read Calvinistic Cartoons. I really appreciate you viewing my blog even if you don't have time to comment. I do the same thing with other blogs.
I also want to thank those of you who take time to comment occasionally and especially those who comment on a regular basis. You guys keep me going.
A few days ago my followers dropped, in a single day, (or a married day for that matter) from 412 to 405. I don't know how that can happen unless it was a large family. I'm thinking Amish. Either I am ticking people off or I'm becoming old hat. I do have an old hat, but I still wear it occasionally.
One thing for sure, I'm not gaining any ground in the mysterious world of blogacopia. But I'm not giving up. This blog is my creative outlet. I enjoy it. I read my own blog more than anyone else!
So thanks again for stopping by and putting up with my satire, ranting and whining.
Love you guys! Corky says "Hi",

  1. Well, I for one enjoy seeing posts from CC show up in my feed. I enjoy them even if I don't always comment. Keep plugging, Eddie!

  3. I keep showing up for more of those inspiring Arminian Antics posts and I have a little crush on Nigel but I suppose he's under a few tons of cooled lava right now unless I missed something.

  5. Well I don't know about this 'followers', but I follow CC using theoldreader.com, which I believe is 'pull-only', so there should be no way for you to know I'm following (except when I comment). Maybe your numbers are much larger than you think?

  6. Since my computer will not allow me to reply underneath the name, I want to address Freya Willa's comment. Arminian Antics will return in February, thanks to your lone comment. I wasn't sure anyone would miss it. And Nigel's story will pick up in February as well. Thanks for your interest!

  9. If you're ticking people off by spreading the word of God then press on! The world needs more ticked off people.

  10. Well, the followers have been reduced to 374 at the time of this writing. My goal for the end of 2016 is to have at least 263.

  12. I'm still sowing! I just got smacked in the face with a shingle that blew off the roof.

  13. Is something wrong with Blogger? I've seen the follower count drop dramatically on other blogs too.

  16. I think this is the answer. Google friend connect is now obsolete so non-Google followers have been removed.

  17. Thanks! That explains a lot! Now I have one more thing I can ignore.

  18. Here is the message in its entirety...if anyone is interested.

In 2011, we announced the retirement of Google Friend Connect for all non-Blogger sites. We made an exception for Blogger to give readers an easy way to follow blogs using a variety of accounts. Yet over time, we’ve seen that most people sign into Friend Connect with a Google Account. So, in an effort to streamline, in the next few weeks we’ll be making some changes that will eventually require readers to have a Google Account to sign into Friend Connect and follow blogs.
As part of this plan, starting the week of January 11, we’ll remove the ability for people with Twitter, Yahoo, Orkut or other OpenId providers to sign in to Google Friend Connect and follow blogs. At the same time, we’ll remove non-Google Account profiles so you may see a decrease in your blog follower count.
We encourage you to tell affected readers (perhaps via a blog post), that if they use a non-Google Account to follow your blog, they need to sign up for a Google Account, and re-follow your blog. With a Google Account, they’ll get blogs added to their Reading List, making it easier for them to see the latest posts and activity of the blogs they follow.
We know how important followers are to all bloggers, but we believe this change will improve the experience for both you and your readers.
