I originally grew up about three miles outside of Luther, Iowa (Google Map it; you'll find it). Since then, I've lived in Cedar Falls, IA; Burlington, IA; Deerfield, IL; Vernon Hills, IL; Highland Park, IL; Polk City, IA; Fargo, ND; Council Bluffs, IA; Altoona, IA; and currently in Rochester, MN. All of these have been at least one year residencies (or longer).
Raised in, now living in, and raising our boys in Ozawkie, KS. When my wife and I were away at college in Springfield, MO, I didn't plan on ever being back here, but that's not what the Lord was planning.
BTW,when I was younger and dating my someday-wife, I could easily convince her friends that I was from Ozawkie JAPAN...
I was raised in Dalhart, TX. I attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX and graduate school in Galveston, TX. I moved to Beaverton, OR, then back to Galveston and now live in Bartlesville, OK.
I miss family and friends in Texas the most. I also miss the hiking and other outdoor activities that were available while I was living in Oregon. It's beautiful up there but so far from home and so expensive.
I grew up in Denham Springs La...a suburb of Baton Rouge. I miss most my family and the small town that it was when I grew up.It is now part of the URBAN SPRAWL and many strangers and no longer has that small town feel where everyone knew everyone else and were possible kinfolks. My second hometown is New Orleans, La where I have spent most of my adult life and still have many friends. Thirdly, I live in Houston TX which is my third hometown and where I am living for a second time after Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans! There is no place like my THREE (3) hometowns and I love them all for varies reasons which are beyond words.
Gerry, Houston is where I was born and raised. Lived on the north side until 12 years of age, then moved to the south side. I have lived in Humble, Conroe, Georgetown, Texas...Mabank, Kemp, Gun Barrel City, Texas. Mesquite and McKinney, Texas. Bad Nauheim, Germany (while in the Army) and now Salmiya, Kuwait.

Oh, and one year out in Papua New Guinea 9 years ago!- Still have a heart for Exeter... Any other UK readers out there?
It's in interesting question for us. I grew up in Sheffield, in the north of England, but moved to the Midlands to study. Met my wife in London and we eventually moved to her hometown of Singapore. From there we moved to Sydney where we are now. As we go through discussions with a mission organisation they have helpfully urged us to nominate one place as a home base, especially for the sake of our children.
Happen to be Mr. Ellery's neighbor. We are from Washington, about 40 minutes roughly from the locations he mentioned. ;) I've been to all the places he mentioned.
Although I have traveled some, I have kept typical homes. I lived in Greenville, Ohio in my early childhood and have lived in Statesville, NC, for most of the rest of my life. But I had a more exotic sojourn while I was in the Marines. I was deployed for a time to Saudi Arabia where I lived in al Jubail and al Kabrit, not far from the Kuwaiti border.
Born in Port Elizabeth. Raised in Uitenhage. Live in Jeffreys Bay. Would LOVE to live in Cape Town. Cape Town is magical. Hopefully I'll have the opportunity.
