Cos Play or Cos Work?

While in Dallas for a book signing, (see Saturday, October 18 post) Corky and I visited Calvinistic Cartoon fan, Forest Stump, to see the costume he created for a Harvest Festival at his church. Needless to say, we were impressed!

An Important Message from the CEO of Calvinistic Cartoons

This September first I will turn 65 years of age. That means, at best, I will have only seventy five years left to churn out Calvinistic Cartoons. During my vacation I have been working on my autobiography. One thousand six hundred and eighty seven pages and I haven't even mentioned anything about myself yet. So I'm scrapping the bio and will begin on another project. I'll let you know more later.

Just Yesterday

President Ilham Aliyev and Tomislav Nikolic unveiled the monument and put flowers on it. First Lady of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva and Serbian First Lady Dragica Nikolic also laid flowers at the monument. Eddie Eddings and Corky Velveeta of Calvinistic Cartoons also attended the event.
The monument commemorating Nikola Tesla stands in one of the central parks of Baku, at the crossroads on the corner of Azadliq Avenue and Suleyman Rahimov Street. The authors of the 3,3-meter monument are renowned Azerbaijani sculptor Omar Eldarov and architect Sanan Salamzadeh. The monument is made of bronze and represents Nikola Tesla against the background of one of his inventions.
After the ceremony President Aliyev and President Nikolic asked for Corky's autograph and asked to be taken to the year 1898 for some reason.

Captain America as seen in Kuwait

As always, American films go through an editing process before they are released in the Middle East. The above poster indicates a few changes made. It's almost a completely different film. It's amazing what they can do with computer graphics these days. The Romans 9 grenade got through the censors because they thought it was a code name for S.H.I.E.L.D.

Fan Photo of Classic Comic

A special thanks to Kafka McMillan for sending this iPhone image of an old comic book he recently purchased. This Classic Illustrated of the Time Machine by H. G. Wells was one I remembered reading for a book report in the fifth grade. Instead of reading the actual novel, I read the comic and got a pretty good grade if I recall. A check for $7,000 is on it's way brother McMillan. I hope you can use the money!
