The Sacred BLT #5

Just Yesterday

President Ilham Aliyev and Tomislav Nikolic unveiled the monument and put flowers on it. First Lady of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva and Serbian First Lady Dragica Nikolic also laid flowers at the monument. Eddie Eddings and Corky Velveeta of Calvinistic Cartoons also attended the event.

The monument commemorating Nikola Tesla stands in one of the central parks of Baku, at the crossroads on the corner of Azadliq Avenue and Suleyman Rahimov Street. The authors of the 3,3-meter monument are renowned Azerbaijani sculptor Omar Eldarov and architect Sanan Salamzadeh. The monument is made of bronze and represents Nikola Tesla against the background of one of his inventions.

After the ceremony President Aliyev and President Nikolic asked for Corky's autograph and asked to be taken to the year 1898 for some reason.

Everyone's a Joker!

And the Winners are...

Congratulations go to Curtis Q. Plankton and Fritz McLean who have won Spurgeon's Commentary on the Book of Matthew! And it is autographed by C .H. Spurgeon! It's not the C. H. Spurgeon you are probably thinking of. It's Carmen Hattie Spurgeon, a waitress at Mimi's Cafe in Dimebox, Texas, who is not related to the Prince of Preachers at all. Still, it is C. H. Spurgeon - you can't deny that!

A Letter from Mac MacArthur

Dear Eddie,

I am the cousin of pastor John MacArthur. I know how you admire him so I wanted to send this photo of him as a wee lad. He is pictured here reading MY book. Every time he came over he would grab that book and read it for hours. I finally gave him an autographed copy of his own on his thirteenth birthday.

Keep up the good work!

Mac MacArthur
