Major Discovery by CC Fan
While Calvinistic Cartoon fan, Aberdeen Candun was reading our blog yesterday, he remembered an old comic book he had stored away in the attic back in 1988.. To his surprise, on the inside back cover, he found the words, "Spurgeon will run into Jack the Ripper outside the Metropolitan Tabernacle on March 13th, 1888 at 8 P.M... Tell Holmes to stop the encounter at any cost."

Steampunked #1
Big enough to frame if you open in new window. This is the first of 10 steampunked preachers of old. Prescheduled are Calvin, Luther, Pink, Matthew Henry, Jonathan Edwards, William Carey, John Knox, George Whitefield and John Bunyan. The last one will appear September 19th. Collect them all!
I am open for suggestions for the month of October, November or December.
P.S. - Someone saw me working on the Steampunk Pink (appearing September 10) and asked if I was making fun of him. IN NO WAY! I greatly admire and adore all these men! Steampunk is an art form that has recently intrigued me. It artistically promulgates someone who is a visionary yet embraces history. A person who is ahead of his time, in thought and action. So with all civility and respect, I present these steampunked exhibits of some of history's finest men.

Dave Hunt's 1918 Invention
Yes! This is the same Dave Hunt who wrote, "What Love is This?"( His reply to the 5 Points of Calvinism.) During our research on Evangelical Inventions of the Past we uncovered this contraption that claimed to give instant Arminian apologetical responses to any Calvinistic question that might pop up during a Bible study, preaching session or casual conversation. This device was first sold at Dave Hunt's John 3:16 conference and pot-luck supper in Misconstrue, Washington and was hailed by Arminians everywhere as the "single most sure-fire anti-Calvinist super weapon thingy that ever was." Hunt had to discontinue it's use after several participants became Calvinists anyway.
Above is a photo taken in 1919 just before a church service where the pastor was going to read one of C.H. Spurgeon's unedited sermons. These are the deacons of the First Free Will Church of the Pines. The pastor was promptly fired after he closed the reading with an "Amen".

Dialogue Dispute
Here is the challenge: These three busts above (Darwin, Finney and Spurgeon) have been placed together on a bookshelf by some ignoramus. Use your imagination and come up with a caption where one, two or all have something to say. This challenge will never end. I plan on using some, not all, (sorry, Arminians) to post with dialogue balloons and full credit to the humorist on this blog and my Facebook page during the months ahead. Good Providence to all the Calvinists who participate and good luck to all the Arminians and Semi-Pelagians who try their best.

In Search of a New Robin
Thanks to Gouda Gauman for sending this Batman page to our offices in Kuwait. Of course, our policy is to send a $7,000 check to those we decide to publish. It's on it's way Gouda! Thanks for being a loyal fan of Calvinistic Cartoons when so many are taking the fast track of Facebook and not looking back. We appreciate you and those who continue reading this blog.

A Friend Died
I just found out that my friend, Mike Ross, died. I used to see him every year when I attended the Christian Booksellers Convention. Bob (his father) and Mike were always there with the Pilgrim Publications booth, smiling and introducing many to the great Spurgeon books they published. Mike was a joy to be around. His exuberance and love for life was uplifting. He reminded me of a combination of Charles Spurgeon and Hoss Cartwright. He is worshiping the Lord Jesus Christ face to face now...and I know he has probably run into Spurgeon by now.
MICHAEL ROSS (1963-2012) OF PILGRIM PUBLICATIONS AND
PILGRIM BOOK STORE GOES TO BE WITH THE LORD (09-05-2012)
By Mike's Father, Bob L. Ross
In one of my Bibles, my son Michael had long ago written these few words when he was between 8 and 9 years old::
"Michael Ross
John 3:16
Jan. 8, 1972)"
Right beside those words, I later wrote the following:
"Michael confessed faith in Christ as Saviour on Nov. 25, 1973.
I had preached on Abraham's faith."
Michael was 10 years old.
He had his 49nth birthday on Wednesday, August 29, 2012.
For most of his 49 years, even from an early age, Michael was enthusiastically devoted to working in the publication and distribution of C. H. Spurgeon's sermons and other books. You can no doubt find Mike' fingerprints on Spurgeon's sermons and publications perhaps all over the world where he has shipped book orders.
Funeral services are currently being planned for Saturday morning at First Baptist Church, Fairmont Parkway at Red Bluff Road, Pasadena, Texas.
Michael sent regular offerings from Pilgirm Publications to support Missionary
Daniel Shanks in the West Indies and Missionary Allan Roman in Mexico.
