It seems to be one of two sides having a tug-of-war in a storm, but the "enemy within" is obstructing this side from winning and getting to safety. It reminds me of the distraction of our superficial modern times and betrayal - in the face of the real threat - climate chaos and lack of commitment to fighting climate change.
They are trying to save the boat of the church from being carried away by the storm, but one at the end of the line is not of help, on the contrary pushes instead of pulling?
