  1. I thought with Calvin's 500 birthday being in 2009, 2009 was the year of the Calvinist.

  5. 2010 will be a particular (as opposed to a general) Calvinist year. It will be a year the Lord has previously and particularly ordained to come to pass in these five key areas:

A year of understanding our total inability to follow our Lord until He overcomes our will by His divine grace thereby enabling us to choose to follow Him.

A year that from all eternity, He will have brought us to himself not based on the foreseen virtue or merit of our faith, but rather, unconditionally grounded in His mercy alone.

A year where the offer of our salvation has already been achieved in the definite atonement of Christ who has secured our salvation, for those for whom He died, and has effectually called .

A year of saving grace, effectually applied, to those He has determined and in His timing. The Holy Spirit will overcome all our resistance making His influence irresistible, effective, and certain in our obeying the call of the gospel.

Therefore, it will be a year or preservation for those He has called into communion with Himself showing the perseverance of His saints who continue in faith until the end.

    In the Lamb,

    Rafe
