Eddie Albert Record

How many of you remember Eddie Albert?
The actor who is best know for his role as Oliver Wendell Douglas
in the old TV show "Green Acres".
On January 1st, 1954 the above album was released by Mr. Albert. I haven't heard any of it, but by the title and the University Interfaith Chorale joining in, it's easy to figure out this was an attempt to propagate an "all roads lead to Heaven" type of philosophy. If I'm wrong...sue me.

Odd Album of the Month

Dummies on album covers are always an oddity. And did you know that ventriloquism isn't hard at all when performed on a recording?

Christian Album Showcase

Shouldn't the spotlight be on Jesus? Just sayin'...anyway, the guy in the middle doesn't look too happy about being out of the spotlight either.

Police Files: The Goober Twins

This photo, from police files, shows the Goober Twins, Rob and Bob, in their very first robbery in 1984. Seen leaving the Freddo Ice Cream Shoppe in Toothpick, Tennessee with bags of ice cream, this photo was exhibit A in the trial that sent these two to Pre-teen Boot Camp.

Eddie Eddings Sings

This is my dad's recording in 1954.
Two years later, his friend, George Jones recorded it.
Tammy Wynette, Loretta Lynn, Ernest Tubb,
Jack Greene and Jeannie Seely also recorded it.

Real Records You May Have Missed #39

All it takes is one long extension cord and a bushel of birds that are not afraid of the blast of a huge pipe organ to pull this off.

Real Records You May Have Missed #38

Paul "Tex" Yearout talks to the NOW generation about the STEREO generation! I have heard about the NOW generation but had no idea that there was a STEREO generation...hmmm, guess Tex prevented it from spreading any further. I wonder how this would sound today. His next album should have been entitled, "Three Strikes and Yearout". Anyone out there who used to be part of the Stereo generation? My copy of this album is in mono.
