FREE Book! Enough!

The American way of life pushes people to constantly strive for more--more money, more stuff, more clout. But how much is enough? And how do we know when we have too much of a good thing? In this provocative, paradigm-shifting book, Will Davis Jr. challenges readers to discover the peace that comes through contentment with what we have and compassion for those in need. Through surprising statistics, scriptural insight, and real-life stories, Davis gently leads readers to consider living with less in order to do more for the kingdom. Thought-provoking discussion questions and short chapters make this a perfect study for small groups.

  1. On my family's first trip to Venezuela, we visited the dump in Maracaibo where a community had formed for the express purpose of living off the garbage that came from the city. They would set up lines for sorting through the garbage for things to eat, wear, build with, or re-sell. The observation made by the team in debriefing was that we live in a garbage dump of sorts in the affluence of the United States. The only difference is that our junk is just arranged a little better. In the years since then, my family has been involved in efforts in South Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and even here in our local region through CEF Good News Clubs, all while continuing to support the efforts of our brothers and sisters in Venezuela. Our kids have remarked that we have gone without some nicer things. Nevertheless, they have no regrets. Far greater has been the experience and adventure of the Christian life in the ministry of the Gospel in fulfilling the Great Commission than the meager substitutes of material things to appease souls starved of such meaning and purpose.
