Odd Comics of the Month

I do not buy comics anymore, but I do love sequential art. Here are two very different comic books that were issued recently. A steampunk version of the Green Hornet and a fictional teaming of H.P. Lovecraft and Nikola Tesla. What does this have to do with Calvinism? There are two major viewpoints on this issue: One view is "nothing at all". The other view is "everything has to do with Calvinism."

Fan Photo from Mitzi Flanita

This photo arrived in our offices today with the following letter from Calvinistic Cartoon fan, Mitzi Flanita:

Dear Mr. Eddings,
I came across this old photo of Fred Astaire. It was in an old trunk my mother kept in her attic. As you can see, she snapped this picture as Fred was leaving Boston and heading back to Hollywood. My late mother met Mr. Astaire at an art auction where he purchased this painting of Nikola Tesla and you, Mr. Eddings. My mother told me that Fred would just sit and Astaire at that painting for hours.
I am puzzled as to how you are featured in this oil painting. You are either much older than you appear or you are a time traveler. Either way, I wanted to send this to you Fed-Ex so you could post it on your blog.
Regards,
Mitzi

Well, Mitzi Flanita, Calvinistic Cartoons is sending you a check for seven thousand dollars for your thoughtfulness. I often wondered what had happened to that painting. I wonder who owns it now?

A Page from Corky's Past

Back in 1881 (the year that could be read upside down) Corky Velveeta spent part of his day modeling for the Calvinistic Women Art Society in Liverpool. If you click on the picture above you can enlarge it enough to use as a great wallpaper...maybe for the den or living room.

Graphic Novel Page

This page was sent in by Herbie Fossenbooten. This Calvinistic Cartoon member thought I would appreciate the irony and humor. Well, Herbie, you have just earned yourself a nice, fat check of $7,000. I enjoyed the plug and will send you another check if you will mail me the entire graphic novel.
