I knew of a pastor every now and then would take his deacons out back of the church for some "tough love."
Creflo Dollar says he would like to install non-thither detectors in his church and if you walk through and set off the detector as a non-tither he would like to shoot you and kill you. See his youtube video. Gregg Metcalf Colossians 1:28-29
"Creflo Dollar says he would like to install non-thither detectors in his church and if you walk through and set off the detector as a non-tither he would like to shoot you and kill you. See his youtube video." Woohoo!
Mark Driscoll over Rob Bell as if there's any contest there! I'd take neither personally, but I wouldn't feel as bad going after Driscoll, I'd feel like a bully going after Bell.
That kind of tough love is easier on folks than what happened with Ananias and Sapphira - not that that was a tithing issue, but many people pledge support for a church among other things when they become members.
The original Greek of "not pugnacious" means you don't punch people without a good reason ... anyway, that's what my Today's New Revised Contemporary Living English International American Standard Christian Message Version Bible says in the margin.
I have the Anger Management Devotional Edition. Edited by Mark Driscoll.

ReplyDeleteWoohoo!
Dollar's theology is not worth a wooden nickel.
ReplyDeleteIsn't there an elder qualification, "not pugnacious"? He fails.
ReplyDeleteStill, I'd rather see a pastor with John Wayne's manly grit than some effeminate heretic with a whiny voice.
I think I just said I prefer Mark Driscoll over Rob Bell.
@ THEOparadox: Yes,yes,yes! LOL!
ReplyDeleteNow there is a Pastor with True Grit!
