People who like the Muppets version haven't seen the 1973 with Albert Finney. He played both young and old Scrooge, and we get a bonus with Obi Wan Kenobi as Jacob Marley. And the most memorable songs.
Though this new musical play is pretty good. I think Kelsey Grammar was in the tv version.
Oh yes, the version with Finney and Sir Alec was great. It has been a while since I watched it.
I must say, though, that the graveyard scene in the George C. Scott version surpasses all the others that I have seen. -------------------------------- And while we're on the subject, Buggs Bunny's Christmas (with Yosemite Sam as Scrooge) has one of the best lines ever:
Buggs: "If you don't change your ways, I'm going to take you to see the guy in the red suit."
Thumbs up for Albert Finney who stars in the only Scrooge movie that I like!

John Locke was my favorite character (in Lost, not philosophy). Nice to know he was a Calvinist after all.
