Benny Finney did a write up on his blog, Arminian Antics (#55) entitled, Calvinists Believe in Zombies. Finney, as an Arminian, doesn't believe that someone could be walking around if they were spiritually dead. He believes in "the Walking Sick".
OK :o) Never mind, too early in the morning. I realize you were not emplying Einstein was an atheist. You are correct, the atheists that I have dealt with consider themselves to be nothing short of brilliant. My conclusion concerning atheists is simple, they don't "get it," nor can they. "The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit" (1 Cor. 2:14). Thank you Lord for blessing us with your Spirit, enabling us to discern, though often imperfectly, your revealed Word.
The WDAGCAGB... Sounds like a reputable organization. When atheists recognize that they are walking dead enough to organize over it, that says something.
Benny done told you they did, thank you very much.
ReplyDeleteElvis, what you don't know is that I mentioned that to him first...in a phone conversation before you were part of his team.
ReplyDeleteReminds me of a line from The World Tilting Gospel re: being dead in our trespasses and sins:
ReplyDelete"[W]e are like the undead of horror movie fame. We are like zombies. The brains we eat are our own."

ReplyDeleteEinstein wasn't an atheist. He did no have his theological ducks all lined up in a row, but he was not an atheist.

ReplyDeleteThey don't get much deader in transgressions and sins than that!
ReplyDeleteRick Warren would just find 2 or 3 things they could agree on and pronounce the atheist a brother...

ReplyDeleteThe dead don't care. It doesn't matter to them one bit. They reek with the stink of deadness.
