We all know that we shouldn't throw stones. The Bible says so. But, knife throwing can bring a lot of first-timers back to church. It's cutting edge. It's an idea that has a point. It's part of the circus that goes on in many a congregation today. Provide some humor for this photo and maybe you will cause some knife throwing pastor to reconsider his role as shepherd.
CONFESS!!!

Untrained knife thrower, Rev. Cooder Boone, feels his ministry includes "throwing in faith" and uses volunteers who truly believe in "guidance from above". Here, at the funeral of deacon Roscoe Banks, Rev. Boone uses aliving illustration of the nearness of death. His weddings include the same illustration...as does his baptism service.
ReplyDeleteELCA Pastorette Jane Smith-Jones-Johnson-Allison-Schwartz-Berger had mocked Rev. Eddings' sermon on Judges 20 as pertaining to a mythical account, as she maintained much of the Old Testament does. Rev. Eddings had challenged her, stating that he could find some present-day Gibeahites with perfect aim. Rev. Eddings was unable to find a Gibeahite locally, but instead found a Gibeonite. As we can see, the Giebonite's aim is less than true because as of press time, Ms. Smith-etc was still yet to be hit by any of the attempts. Shortly after the photo was taken, Rev. Eddings took matters into his own hands and threw a Bible at Ms. Smith-etc. and hit her squarely in the nose. Rev. Eddings is now in custody for assault with a sword of the Spirit. Ms. Smith-etc. was unavailable for comment, having released a statement saying she was out of town at a goddess/Wicca/Islam/Hindu/transgender conference on what "Sola Scriptura" really means.
