  1. As I was scanning the horizon with my good eye, I noticed a break in the clouds directly over me. That's when the piano dropped on me.

    1. The staff at the Under One Woof Animal Shelter gave me a Christian burial right there on the spot.

      (so as to make this short story more theological in content)

  2. When Clouds Break

    "Dad, what happens when it rains?" little Timmy inquires of his father.

    "Well, Timmy," the wise man begins, the sound of a piano popping up out of nowhere, "that's when clouds break, son."

    "Why do they do that?"

    The father wipes a tear from his eye. "It's filled to the brim with the tears of all the Calvinist your uncle, Benny Finney, has whooped in argumentation."

    Timmy ponders this new information. "That's not what my science book said."

    "Well, son, sometimes science is wrong. Your uncle is something special, son...Something special."
