FREE BOOK! KIndle Users Only

From the Back Cover

You don't have to be controlled by difficult people!
Strange as it may seem, other people are not nearly as committed to our happiness as we are. In fact, sometimes it seems like they're on a mission to make us miserable! There's always that one person. The one who hijacks our emotions. The one who seems to thrive on drama. If we could just "fix" that person, everything would be better. But we can't fix other people. We can only make choices about ourselves.

In this cut-to-the-chase book, communication expert Mike Bechtle shows you how to stop being a victim of other people's craziness. With commonsense wisdom and proactive advice that you can put into practice immediately, Bechtle gives you a proven strategy to handle crazy people--and stay sane while doing it.

There will always be difficult people. But this fresh perspective on dealing with them can change your life--starting today!

Insightful. Organized around basic principles. Overall good read. I love that these ideas are based on biblical principles and that the author points the reader to the Bible as the definitive book on relationships. Published by Revell

There's an APP for that #2

This is my take on the line "there's an app for that". APP interpreted by Calvinistic Cartoons means "Appropriate Particular Passage (of Scripture)". I need your help in finding a verse or two from the Bible to correspond with the photo above. Thanks in advance for your participation.

What does a transformed life actually look like?
In his follow-up to the critically acclaimed Imaginary Jesus, Matt Mikalatos tackles this question in an entertaining and thought-provoking way—with MONSTERS!!! While Christians claim to experience Christ’s resurrection power, we sometimes act like werewolves who can’t control our base desires. Or zombies, experiencing a resurrection that is 90 percent shambling death and 10 percent life. Or vampires, satiating ourselves at the expense of others. But through it all we long to stop being monsters and become truly human—the way Christ intended. We just can’t seem to figure out how.

Night of the Living Dead Christian is the story of Luther, a werewolf on the run, whose inner beast has driven him dangerously close to losing everything that matters. Desperate to conquer his dark side, Luther joins forces with Matt to find someone who can help. Yet their time is running out. A powerful and mysterious man is on their trail, determined to kill the wolf at all costs . . .

By turns hilarious and heartbreaking, Night of the Living Dead Christian is a spiritual allegory that boldly explores the monstrous underpinnings of our nature and tackles head-on the question of how we can ever hope to become truly transformed.   (Tyndale House publication)

Kindle Peeps - A FREE BOOK!

All too often, Christians who are sinners themselves become judge, jury, and jailer over others. In his newest release, Why We Eat Our Own, author and pastor Michael Cheshire boldly explores some unsavory questions. Why does the world often do a better job of forgiving their fallen than the Church? When did the Church become cannibalistic? Is the decline in Christianity due to the world or have we just become horrible to each other and the world noted it?

Tesla Movie 2014

A new movie about Serbian scientist Nikola Tesla will be released in 2014.. Makers say that the name - Mad Scientist – reflects the fact that Tesla was a misunderstood genius – and goes by the impressive tagline:
He’s the world’s greatest inventor and you probably never heard of him.
(Note: The title has now been changed to simply "Tesla". - Eddie)
The plot starts when Tesla sets foot on American soil and follows his life until his final moments in a New York hotel room. His rivalries with Thomas Edison and JP Morgan loom large as do his friendships with with Mark Twain and George Westinghouse. In between, Tesla changes the world.
The movie’s facebook page already has several thousand Like’s – more than half from Serbs. The American production will be set in Pittsburgh and feature plenty of Serbian dialogue.

UPDATE: The leading role of Nikola Tesla himself has been cast as Diaspora-born Branko Tomović. Branko appeared in movies including The Bourne Ultimatum and Interview with a Hitman. He has been nominated for a European Film Award and was named ‘One to Watch’ by MovieScope Magazine.
Writer and director Michael Anton said,”Branko’s performance just blew us away…he is the perfect Nikola Tesla.”
“Nikola Tesla has been a great idol of mine for a very long time. It’s a very great honour to be allowed to breath life into his wonderful character and tell his remarkable story. Michael Anton’s script is a very well written biopic, which captures Tesla’s essence and persona, his passion for his work, his extraordinary mind, his eccentricity, his ambition and the movie will show that he was not a mad scientist – but one of the greatest minds and inventors that ever lived. ” Branko Tomovic

FREE BOOK while it lasts (Kindle)

Can you imagine reading a book about apologetics and being unable to put it down? Well, this is such a book! I started reading and didn't want to stop...the story telling approach and the humor clearly illustrated how we come to conclusions ...about scriptures and other things...through pre-existing filters resulting from our own life experiences. A must read! (D. Ann)

Had new thoughts that I had not previously considered. Written in a fun and very readable style. I actually ENJOYED reading this apologetics book. Very good examples to illustrate his points. Written with compassion and humanity. (Duane Hanson)

From Fear to Favor

This rare, digitally restored full-feature cartoon features Superman, in his first animated movie (1942) where he battles a character based on Nikola Tesla, the Mad Scientist (who has a raven rather than a pigeon) . Animated by the award-winning Max and Dave Fleischer Studios of the 1940s, it demonstrates how Tesla was turned into a mad scientist by the mainstream media.

Today, he is viewed by DC comics ("DC"-ironic, isn't it) for the peace loving genius he was, as demonstrated by the comic below.
This story offers up yet another twist to the "What if Superman had landed (where/when)...?" scenario, but still stands out as a great story to read. The premise is that the DC universe characters existed--in some form or another--during the latter decades of the 19th century. Clark Kent, sans costume or need for a secret identity, makes his debut at the Centennial Exposition in 1876, when he flies in carrying the first pieces of what would be the Statue of Liberty.

Kent's goal is to offer his strength, speed, and other talents to top scientists in order to speed up the already dizzying pace of scientific progress. He takes a job with Thomas Edison, but soon after forms a coalition with genius inventor Nikola Tesla and financial wizard Lex Luthor. It is through the progress of science and the happy accidents it sometimes breeds that his various co-workers--Ted Knight and Barry Allen--are transformed into the Starman and the Human Flash. A stranded alien later offers Clark the ring of the Green Lantern Corps, but Clark refuses it, allowing it to pass instead to Army Captain Hal Jordan.

The goal of the newly formed League of Science is to promote the use of science to help the common man. But it doesn't always work that way, particularly when the common man is the one who has to build all of it for low wages.

Toss into the mix a romantic feud between Kent and Luthor over the love of Lois Lane, Luthor's own ideas for building science-based weaponry using radium, and the betrayal by one of the other League members, and what you have is a historical superhero drama set against the backdrop of an Industrial Revolution gone horribly awry. These five statements below are either true or false. Before you let your fingers run to Google, try answering these questions by yourself. Answers will be posted in a few days  Have fun and prepare to have your eyes opened.

The city of Irving, Texas, gives credit to Washington Irving for the town's name.
The town of Knickerbocker, Texas, was founded by two of Irving's nephews who named the town in honor of their uncle's literary pseudonym.

Henry Ford

In this new series you will learn more about historical figures than many textbooks care to acknowledge. Third in line is Henry Ford. These five statements below are either true or false. Before you let your fingers run to Google, try answering these questions by yourself. Answers will be posted in a few days  Have fun and prepare to have your eyes opened.
