Dialogue Dispute

Here is the challenge: These three busts above (Darwin, Finney and Spurgeon) have been placed together on a bookshelf by some ignoramus. Use your imagination and come up with a caption where one, two or all have something to say. This challenge will never end. I plan on using some, not all, (sorry, Arminians) to post with dialogue balloons and full credit to the humorist on this blog and my Facebook page during the months ahead. Good Providence to all the Calvinists who participate and good luck to all the Arminians and Semi-Pelagians who try their best.

  1. Darwin: "I could show fight on natural selection having done and doing more for the progress of civilization than you seem inclined to admit. Remember what risk the nations of Europe ran, not so many centuries ago of being overwhelmed by the Turks, and how ridiculous such an idea now is!"

Spurgeon: "For our part, we find it far more easy to believe that the Lord made us than that we were developed by a long chain of natural selections from floating atoms which
    fashioned themselves."

Finney: "For my part, it is far more easy to believe that I become perfect through a long chain of selections that I fashioned myself."

  2. Spurgeon: "Darwin...Finney...you guys are BUSTED!"

  3. Survival of the fittest, social Darwinism, and manipulated revivalism: what do these things have in common? Darwin and Finney, of course! Spurgeon stood with the personal God of Scripture and His sovereign decrees.

  4. Darwin: Hey guys! Is my skull shaped like a neanderthal?
    Finney: Yes, most definitely!
Spurgeon: Finney, I wouldn't be talking if I were you.

  5. Darwin: Hey, I LIKE Finney's church that Chuck guy never has anything good to say to me!

  6. Darwin: I've got a monkey at my typewriter. In a few millennia he and his progeny should produce works far greater than William Shakespeare.

Finney: Where is he anyway? William Shakespeare would make us a great quartet.

Spurgeon: He was here. I told him he didn't have to stick around if he didn't want to. I thought you would like Will to be free, Finney.

  7. Finney: I have free will!

Darwin: Can't you afford to pay for it?

    Spurgeon: Jesus paid for mine.

  8. Darwin: I seek no God.

    Finney: I seek God.

Spurgeon: God sought and found me.

  9. Spurgeon: Repent and believe the Gospel

  10. Spurgeon: Have you seen my cigar?
Finney: The foul smell was curling my nostrils. It has been removed to the rubbish.
Darwin: Do we have to repeat this scenario everyday? This really is torment!

  11. Finney: "If we're going to go on a first-name basis here, we'll have to use different handles. Darwin, you be Charlie Horse since you think you're an animal. I'll be Lucky Chuckie since I'm glad I choose salvation. Spurgie, you'll be Father Charles since you're linked in with that Founders group."
