  1. There is a much deeper, spiritual meaning here...I just don't know what it is...

  2. When the microdenomination was going through a split last year the female hung up the verse on the side of the table where she did not even fellowship with the male, even to eat: 'Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies.'

  3. filthy vomit. Though no doubt literal as well, the metaphorical “vomit” of cynicism pours out of Jerusalem's leaders

that's not from me, it's from my study bible when I looked at the verse.

  5. Context is key in the application of Scripture! Years ago, a remote colleague was offended by our employer's support of "gay rights". He put up a poster featuring Leviticus 20:13, refusing to take it down when the boss told him. He was fired for "contributing to a hostile work environment". Some fellow Christians were shocked that he was fired; I was disappointed that a Child of God would be so dull in responding to the culture.

  6. We must never forget the Grace part of the Doctrines of Grace. We all know Christians who use the Bible like its a box of hand grenades. As well as I can remember, 1 Corinthians 13 is still in the Book!

  10. "Hand grenade bibles....now there's a thought :P."

Not to be confused with the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch, of course. :)

  11. Doyle put a little more thought into his next endeavour. He opened up a bakery, and had this verse painted on the wall:

And he said unto me, Son of man, cause thy belly to eat, and fill thy bowels with this roll that I give thee. Then did I eat it; and it was in my mouth as honey for sweetness.
    Ezekiel 3:3
