What Ever Happened to...Bob Harrington?

Most of you may not remember Bob Harrington. He was a very famous evangelist who, quite frankly, became a crook. He says so in his testimony. You can read it here.

I enjoyed listening to him when I was young in the Lord. He was bold with the Gospel and his sermons were anything but boring. But, like many who succumb to fame and fortune, Bob let his ego become his god. He toured with Madalyn Murray O'Hair, the atheist, and would "debate" her on stage. It was a sham. You can read about it in "My Life Without God", by the atheist son, William J. Murray - now an ordained minister.

His daughter has written a very interesting piece entitled, "The Prodigal Father". You can read it here.

I post this for your consideration. I hope to God he has truly returned. What do you think?

I guess it's time for a Q8 Update. Mary and I don't know for sure when we will be returning to the States to live. It could be next year or two or three more years from now. We will either return to the Dallas area or Colorado. The hardest part is being so far away from our family and friends. Although we visit each and every summer, it is still not the same.

I have been promoted to Drama Teacher at the American School of Kuwait. This is the perfect job for me. I could not have chosen a better position at the school. I teach grades 1 - 5 and have around 600 students. God answers prayers better than I could have asked for. It's a perfect fit - even though I didn't think so at the time.

I would request that you pray for my voice acting job. Doing commercials for the radio is the greatest part-time job, ever! I'm in the studio for fifteen or twenty minutes, reading a few lines, and get paid more than I make in a full day at school. It just doesn't occur that often. Pray that they will call more frequently.

I am also tutoring a 4th grade student that is Kuwaiti. He has a full-blown theater in his home. Not a home theater set-up...an actual wide-screen theater with 18 plush automatic lounge chair with cup holders on a carpeted incline. Better than some dollar theaters in America I've been to.

Our Bible study is going well. It's the best part of our week. We meet on Monday evenings and the brother that heads it up is a Calvinist. (the only one I've met in Kuwait - so far.)

Corky came by the humble headquarters of The Word Street Journal today to pay Paul Latour and his lovely wife, Kim a visit. One of the staff told Corky he could find them downtown witnessing on the street. After a few minutes, Corky found them and spent the rest of the day spreading the Good News.
Paul and Kim treated Corky to a marvelous dinner at Denny's afterwards, and then took him for a tour of their office. Great fellowship and great encouragement!

This is an actual sign that points you in the direction of a 200 foot rock formation dubbed "Lot's wife".

The pillar can be reached by driving southbound on Road 90, few kilometers before Dead Sea industrial area so-called Dead Sea Factories. There's a brown road sign "Lot's Wife" showing the direction on the way. Also, many tourist maps point this place as "Lot's Cave", that can be found just beneath the pillar.

Here is a little bit of my comedy routine at the Velveeta Room:

Announcer: Ladies and gentleman, will you please give a warm welcome to Eddie Eddings!

[applause]

“Alright, thanks everybody! Have you ever run into an annoying Arminian? I used to live in an apartment just above one. He declared his apartment an independent nation, and sued me for "violating his airspace".

...he would always finish his sentences with the words, "in accordance with prophesy"...and he began all his sentences with "ooo la la"...annoying I tells ya.

Of course, Calvinists can be irritating as well...I knew one Calvinist, Bonjo Loopis, who would repeat everything someone said as a question. He would demand that everyone address him as "Conquistador".

One time at church he went around asking people what gender they were.

Then there was that blogger, Craig Boyd...he would sit in his front yard pointing a hair dryer at passing cars to see if they would slow down. We went out to lunch once and he asked the waitress for an extra chair for his "imaginary friend".
